Out-of-Network Insurance – What You Need to Know

At JK Counseling, we accept out-of-network insurance, which means that while we are not directly contracted with certain insurance providers, you may still be eligible for partial reimbursement.

How Does Out-of-Network Insurance Work?

  • If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, your insurance may cover a portion of the cost.
  • You may need to pay upfront for sessions and submit a claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
  • Reimbursement amounts vary based on your plan’s coverage, deductible, and co-insurance rates.
  • Some insurance plans do not cover out-of-network services, so we recommend checking with your provider.

What Should You Do?

  • Contact your insurance provider and ask:
    • "Does my plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?"
    • "What percentage of the session cost will be reimbursed?"
    • "Do I need pre-authorization?"
  • Pay for your session at the time of your appointment.
  • Submit a claim to your insurance for reimbursement.
